Written exam:

There are 1200 points on the written exam. For the written exam, a candidate must take all required subjects (papers) worth 600 points and one of the optional subjects worth 600 points. There are 3 hours for each piece. Some of the questions are multiple-choice, and some are not. MCQs should be answered using the computerized OMR Answer sheet, and subjective questions should be answered using the Answer Book using blue or black ink. For the written test, a candidate must get at least 40% in each required subject and at least 33% in each optional subject, or 50% overall.

Medical test:

Those who pass the written test will be given a medical exam by the Medical Boards, which were set up to ensure that the candidates are in good mental and physical health and don't have any physical problems that could get in the way of doing their jobs.

Candidates who don't meet these requirements after a medical exam that the government or appointing authority may order won't be hired, except for disabled candidates who meet the rules set out by the FPSC for disabled candidates. Candidates who have a disability must submit a certificate of disability from the Federal/Provincial Government agency authorized to do so.

Disabled candidates who are physically impaired, hearing/speech impaired (deaf & dumb), or visually impaired (blind) are allowed to compete in the Competitive Examination against four Occupational Groups/Services: (a) Commerce & Trade Group, (b) Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service (c) Information Group (d) Postal Group.

If disabled applicants ask for a helper like a Writer on their application forms, they will get one.

Psychological test:

Before the Viva Voce, all candidates must take a Psychological Test, written tests, and group tasks. These tests are meant to determine if a candidate has the skills, attitudes, and personality traits that make them suitable for the Civil Services. There are no separate points for the psychological test. But the 300 points given for Viva Voce also show how well you did on the Psychological Test. When candidates are called in for a psychological test and Viva Voce, they must bring their national ID cards and two copies of recent photos. If a candidate doesn't show up for the Psychological Test, they won't be able to take the Viva Voce test.
