SYED FAZL SHAH BUKHARI:
It was 5 p.m. on October 5, 2017. My phone rang loudly, and I quickly answered it. A sudden voice entered my ear and promptly crept into my heart. My head was on an uneven, muddy floor in Jinnah Bagh Lahore the next moment, and my eyes were filled with tears. I was sobbing and exclaiming, "Tera shukar hai, Allah. Tu me muje wo de diya Jo shayad b nhe karta tha ". I'll never forget the moment our written results were announced, which caused me to cry happy tears for the first time in my life.
However, before I went through those experiences, I went through a difficult journey. Until FSc, I had a colorful past. In the Presidential Scholarship Test 2008, I placed first in my district of Jhal Magsi and was admitted to Cadet College Sanghar. I also retained my position there and assumed leadership roles in all classes according to ascendency. However, despite passing FSc in 2013, I could not gain admission to any university due to poor performance in FSc Board Exams. I returned to my hometown. I had no specific plans for the future. I tried to mobilize the youth against social evils by establishing the 'Gandava Action Committee.'
Former District of Columbia Jhal Magsi and Captain(R) Waseem, who observed my social spirit, strongly encouraged me to pursue CSS. I took the idea, packed my belongings, and traveled to Lahore with this lofty goal. I had a goal in mind but didn't know how to get there. I had no access to any CSS officers and no senior to guide me. "When there is a will, there is a way," as the saying goes. I tracked down Shahid Iqbal, the only boy I knew in Lahore from my hometown. He was extremely helpful to me. It was 2015, and the deadline for submitting a form for a private Composite BA at the University of Sargodha was approaching. I quickly raised my documents. I prepared it, passed it, and then switched to CSS preparation.
I had a minor facial paralysis attack, and one of my eyes stopped working for two weeks, but I refused to give up. I studied while receiving treatment, but my family was completely unaware of what was happening. During preparation, I gained weight from 71kg to 103kg, primarily due to paralysis medications that always made me hungry. On Bakra Eid, I ate Daal. I was willing to make any sacrifice I could. But I wasn't about to give up at any price. Maybe God liked my spirit and helped me pass this exam on the first try, making me the first PSP officer in my District at such a young age. Thank you for everything!! I only have one message for CSS hopefuls: NEVER GIVE UP.
